Cultural Forum expands horizons: jazz improvisations, DJ-sets and LIVE rock!

“Prokofiev. 21st century” international symposium of the V St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum will take place from December 1 until December 3, 2016 at the main sites of the Forum, and also will take place in the “Palm” creative space and the “Dance-floor” club.

Innovatory music of Sergey Prokofiev, which managed to embrace the time and mark the way to the future, reflected the most controversial contrasts of his epoch. His music expanded perception of the musical time and space, foretold the development of musical ideas and concepts for decades to come, had a tremendous impact on such genres as jazz, which the composer himself was very fond of, as wells as rock and electronic music. This is what one of the main ideas of the Symposium originates from – NON-CLASSIC, presented by the Glinka All-Russian Museum Union of Musical Culture and the Directorate of the Forum.

On December 2 at 15:30 in the “Palm” space (Pirogova st., 18) guests and participants will discuss prospects and opportunities for creators of electronic music. The program includes a workshop with Gabriel Prokofiev (Great Britain) and a joint performance with Boris Andrianov (cello).

Speakers: Viktor Sologub (film-composer, electronic musician), Kirill Ivanov (SBPCh band) and Ilya Voronin (chief editor of Mixmag – leading internet resource on electronic music in Russia).
