The ceremony of giving awards to laureates of the Russian award «Patron of the year» launched by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation will take place in the Business venue of V Saint Petersburg International Cultural Forum on 1st of December at 19:30. This year the ceremony will traditionally be hosted by the Marble Hall of the Russian Museum of Ethnography (4/1 Inzhenernaya St.).
The «Patron of the year» award is annually given to outstanding philanthropists for support and financial help to the projects aimed at preserving Russian cultural heritage. There have been more than 30 entries for the competition for the award. The cherished award will be presented by the leading people of art of Russia, among them are Vladimir Urin, General Director of the Bolshoy Theatre, Edgard Zapashnyi, General Director of Bolshoy Moscow State Circus, tamer Alexey Morozov, theatre and movie actor, Nikolay Tsiskaridze, people’s artist of Russia, member of Presidential Council for Culture and Art, rector of Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet.
11 patrons from various Russian regions will be nominated to the award, among which are Moscow city, Republic of Bashkortostan, Yamalo-Nenets autonomous district, Lipetsk region, Khabarovsk and Stavropol territories, Irkutsk and Kemerovo regions, Krasnodar territory and Kaluga region. The award will be presented in 4 categories: «Creation of cultural infrastructure in regions of the Russian Federation», «Preservation of cultural heritage», «Preservation and development of national cultures and folk arts», «Support of talented children, acquainting the youth with historical and cultural legacy of Russia». The overall contribution of the award nominees this year exceeds record sum of 2 billion roubles.
This year the award ceremony will start with a presentation assigned to «the year of cinema» with Viktoria Andreyanova Fashion house as its partner. Students of the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet will also participate in the event. The night will be concluded with the concert of people’s artist of Russia Igor Butman and Moscow Jazz Orchestra in honor of welcome reception of foreign ministers of culture and tourism on behalf of the Minister of Culture of Russia Vladimir Medinsky.
