At the night event of the “Prokofiev. 21st century” international symposium at the “Dance-floor” club British composer and DJ Gabriel Prokofiev presented a new brilliant mix of electronic and classical music. The performance of Sergey Prokofiev’s grandson was opened by the minister of culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky.
The party at the “Dance-floor” club was a continuation of the NON-CLASSIC program of the “Prokofiev. 21st century” international symposium of the V St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum, dedicated to the 125th anniversary composer. Gabriel played an energetic mix of hip-hop, techno and a compilation of classical pieces of Igor Stravinsky and Sergey Prokofiev for the audience. After the performance the musician told that he was impressed by the energy and openness of local audience, and passed the torch to the founder of Pompeya group Nairi Simonyan.
“I am very glad to visit such a dynamic Cultural Forum, where with open mind we explore classical and non-classical music with support of the Ministry of Culture. A represent the connection between classical and electronic music”, - said Gabriel Prokofiev at the opening ceremony of the V St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.
