British Organist James Parsons Gives a Recital in the Church of St. Catherine

One of the brightest modern organists of Britain, the leading organ master in his country and abroad James Parsons will give a recital in the oldest Catholic church of St. Petersburg on 7 September. 

Along with the artworks of Johann Sebastian Bach and Dieterich Buxtehude, the whole panorama of English music will be presented: from William Byrd, the foremost composer of the Elizabethan era, to modern composers: William Mathias, James Macmillan, Louis Vierne. 

James Parsons is one of the leading organists of Great Britain, who performs on tours all around the world and teaches organ practice. During 25 years he was the musical director of Oundle School, where he organized the Oundle international Festival. Besides, he is a member of the Academic Soviet of the Royal College of Organists; used to be the first editor of the magazine "Organists's Review". 

The concert will be organized under the auspices of the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.
