Classical pianist, virtuoso, public character, People’s Artist of Russia, a prizewinner of the State Prize of Russian Federation in Literature and Arts


Since 1995 Denis Matsuev is a soloist of Moscow Philharmonic Society

In 1998 he became a winner of the 11th International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow

Since 2004 Matsuev has been organizing “Stars on Baikal” Festival in Irkutsk, Siberia, and since 2005 he has been the artistic director of the music festival “Crescendo”

In February 2006 he became a member of The Presidential Council for Culture and Arts; in April 2006 he was granted a title “Honored Artist of Russia”.

In 2010, which was a bilateral year of culture Russia – France, Deins Matsuev became the artistic director of Annecy Music Festival in Annecy, France. In 2012 he became the artistic director of the I International “Astana Piano Passion” Festival and Competition

In 2016 Denis Matsuev as the artistic director of the Competition and chairman of the Organizing Committee started a new competition for young pianists in Moscow - Grand Piano Competition.

In 2010 Denis Matsuev became a laureate of prestigious “Shostakovich’s Prize” in Music as well as the State Prize of Russian Federation in Literature and Arts

In 2011 he was designated as a “People’s Artist of Russia” and Honorary Professor of Moscow State University.

In 2012 he became the head of The Public Council under The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

Since 2014 Denis Matsuev is a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador.

In 2016 Denis Matsuev was announced as 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia ambassador, in December 2016 he was awarded the Order of Honor

Denis Matsuev regularly performs with the world's best known orchestras and appears with the most distinguished conductors of the USA, Germany, France, Great Britain and other countries; he collaborates with the most famous Russian performance groups and represents his own series of concerts “Soloist Denis Matsuev” in the halls of Moscow Philharmonic Society.

Denis Matsuev is the president of the charitable Russian foundation “New Names” and artistic director of the Sergei Rachmaninoff Foundation
